Technical product ownership across data & systems
Business Intelligence Analyst · Auburn, Maine

I build internal platforms and public data products. Lately that has meant a firm-wide permitting and client portal for a ~400-person AEC firm, a public data platform for Maine called MaineStats, and an AI governance product called Fulcral.
I get dropped into unfamiliar environments, work out how things really run, and turn the friction into something people will use.
Seven years across business intelligence, internal tooling, and systems administration. What ties it together is wanting the whole problem rather than a slice of it. I'd rather define what needs solving, design the data model, build the thing, and stay on the hook for whether it works.
Most of my work starts with a process nobody wants to own. A reporting cycle held together by three systems and a spreadsheet. A status question that costs someone a morning to answer. I map it, consolidate it, and replace it with something self-serve. In practice that has meant Power BI reporting for leadership, pipelines across systems that were never meant to talk to each other, and web portals for both applicants and clients.
I work the governance side of AI as well as the building side: Copilot policy, use-case evaluation, deployment standards, and internal tooling for secure model access and prompt development. Fulcral came out of that. The valuable part of the job is being willing to say when AI is the wrong tool.
Before I consulted on data I consulted on systems, walking into client organizations across a lot of industries and getting up to speed fast enough to be worth listening to. That's still roughly how I approach a product.

Now
Business Intelligence Analyst at ms consultants. I'm taking a firm-wide permitting and client portal from concept to launch, working on enterprise AI governance, and building cross-system Power BI reporting for leadership.
Outside that I run MaineStats and Fulcral, and I build things like Texure to keep my hands on the whole stack.
